a real treat

On the way back from the Iowa Library Association conference last week, my co-workers and I stopped at Dairy Queen to eat.

It was raining…it was cold…and dairy queen sounded just right – especially since our hometown Dairy Queen closed for the season, and doesn’t serve a full menu when they’re open.

I was super excited…to be eating out.  Nathan and I stopped eating out as an experiment with our finances…and our waistlines.

I ordered…the grilled turkey club…with cheeseballs. I was good and didn’t have any ice cream (but only because i figured the cheeseballs made up for it and more.)

If I look in pain…it is because i was. This is what i had left when i started to feel full.  I started taking big breaths in order to make room for the whole meal. (have you ever noticed that you start to breathe deeper when getting full?) I was always a clean plate girl…but seriously underestimated the size of the order!

I told Stacey though…I didn’t cook it, and I didn’t pay for it…so I’m gonna eat it.

And I did.

I made Stacey take the picture on her phone…so, thanks stace for the image to the post!

Among my many hidden talents…

So, last week I blogged about my frustrating day, starting with the chocolate people that made me crazy…I thought this week, you may like to see what exactly it was I ordered from a chocolate store in Vermont of all places.

Yes…among my newfound talents…toilet cakes. I did not know this talent was one I posessed, but it was brought about by other creative minds and a willingness to try anything once. The seat came from Creative Chocolates of Vermont and is solid chocolate with painted on flowers…all edible of course.

Doesn’t it just make you want to eat cake?

I suck at stripping

Probably not something you’d share with most of the general population, right? I’m not ashamed at all to tell you this…because in this case its not as risky to share as you may think.
I was sitting at work today…processing books…which I actually find kindof fun (shh…don’t tell anyone). This process requires putting a metal strip in each book. My first couple of attempts were not asthetically pleasing causing me some frustration. Being the perfectionist that I am, i like things to look pretty. At one point I actually said out loud, before really thinking about what was coming out of my mouth, “I suck at stripping.”
I thought Stacey was going to fall off her chair.
