a trip to the park

i came home from work last saturday and found out that my fam had spent the beautiful day at a local park…their first park trip of the season! Ellie has been waiting for this for months.  So, not wanting to miss out on all of the springtime action, we headed back after dinner to use up the rest of the daylight!

Ellie, swinging on her tummy.  I remember doing this at home with my sisters when I was little…

The rarely captured picture of mom…hoping the swing would hold us both…I would have gotten the raw end of that deal, had it not held.

time for a longer coat??

Baby Evan finally wakes up to join the fun…only after almost all daylight is gone and its time to go home…

lets just say we’re all looking forward to more days at the park this summer…especially after Evan starts walking.

Its time to get outside and enjoy some sun!

a fun thing for spring…hey, that rhymes…

all sparkly and clean

since i didn’t have my camera (oh, the shame) the first time, I’m sharing pictures of Ellie’s second trip to the dentist.

She was very excited to have the dentist tell her that she had beautiful teeth, and for him to make her teeth all “sparkly and clean”

the first thing she told the hygienist was that she brushes her teeth every day (with her Dora toothbrush).
I’m not so sure what she thought about the hygienist’s “toothbrush”.  She gave me the look once or twice…

Dr. Adams checking out her teeth. Look closely at her face…I’m not so sure what she was thinking about this either.

All in all, a very successful trip to the dentist. Clean teeth for everyone…and no cavities for mom or dad. We celebrated with a treat that would make any dentist proud…

…don’t worry, we brushed our teeth after we ate it!

knocking things down

Blogged under Ellie, family by janette on Tuesday 17 March 2009 at 8:33 am

every time we drive by the bowling alley on our way into waverly, a little voice from the back of the van tells me…mommy, i see that place where we knock things down.

i guess that our first bowling trip had some impression on her.

Ellie with her orange 6 pound ball. This is the lightest one we could find…and I was still afraid she was going to drop it on her toe every time she carried it up to the lane.

waiting for the ball to reach the pins…don’t be fooled…although it looks it could get there any second, it was more like another couple minutes before it actually got there.  And by the time it did, she was more than likely bored with waiting for it.
Waiting is so hard.

doing it “all by herself”.

update: this morning (saturday) while driving into town…she exclaimed…”mommy, i saw the knocking stuff down store”. She was so excited…and it was so cute! Its now a store!
