quite possibly the two cutest kids on the planet…and one funny story!

I couldn’t help it…i have a ton to post about from earlier this month…but I just couldn’t wait for tonight’s pictures to go up.

Trick or Treat night downtown is a favorite!

Not only are all the little kids just stinkin’ cute, but you can’t go half a block without seeing someone you know. This and Christmas downtown are like the social nights of the year for people with kids.

I may be a little biased…but i think my kids are the cutest kids on the planet…especially when they’re “all dressed up” as Ellie would tell me tonight.

The promised funny story…tonight, while walking around town…we come to the Crawdaddy outdoors store where the giant crawdad is outside handing out treats.

Ellie loves this thing…this summer she gave it countless hugs during sidewalk sales. Anyway, I spot it and tell her “Ellie, its your favorite thing…can you give it a hug?” Ellie walks promptly up to the kayak next to the dressed up crawdad and hugs it. Nathan and I about died.

a day at the farm

The kids have savings accounts at the local credit union, and about a month ago, we received a flier for a “free day at heritage farms” for the kids and their parents. I had heard from another mom that it was a good time, so we decided to check it out for ourselves. We met Nathan at work and then made the short drive to Hudson to the farm.
I always get a little nervous going to things like this because I hate large crowds of people…and it was busy…but thankfully, when you’re outside it doesn’t seem so congested. We eventually found a place to park, and then the fun began!
Kirby Kangaroo, kids club mascot was there greeting everyone. Ellie originally was excited and even gave him a high five…but after that was a little skittish…especially when he showed her his pouch.

She climbed on the hay…

She rode the pony…
I told Nathan I’d wait in line while he played with Ellie…and I also told him that I was sure we’d never get her up there on the pony once we finally got to the front of the line. Boy was I wrong. Nathan walked next to the pony the whole time…but i don’t think she even noticed he was there. She was in heaven. When she got off, she walked back to the next one and said…”my ride that one now mommy”. We practically had to drag her away from the pony ride…what a trooper.

this is what Evan did while Ellie was riding…he sat, beautifully…

Ellie also rode the horse we found in the hayloft…a much tamer horse,

and chose to show us her inquisitive side by exploring all the heavy equipment and its features.

despite the few raindrops that landed on our heads…it was a great day…one she can’t stop talking about!

Ellie’s first parent program

Blogged under Ellie by janette on Thursday 23 October 2008 at 9:34 am

Ellie had her first parent program the other day at her Friday daycare. They made scarecrows…and popcorn/candycorn hands. It was super fun…
she gets right in there and wants to do everything. It was fun to see her interact with her friends.

young state fans

I had to post this picture…just for the fact that it was incredibly hard to get. You see, Ellie is in the stage where she doesn’t want to sit for anything…which frustrates her poor mother. My mother would probably tell me she acts just like I did. Maybe there IS something to “what goes around, comes around.”
