a not-so-good morning

Blogged under rant by janette on Monday 15 December 2008 at 10:51 am

yesterday, I was getting ready to go to work. it was about 9:25. i normally leave around 9:40. husband is showering. it was at this time i remembered that the breast pump i had to take to work wasn’t washed, and there was no bottle ready for Evan to eat that afternoon…there was also no lunch packed…where had my morning gone?

i feverishly washed what i needed, got out a bottle, explained to husband what needed to be done with the bottle in order to feed it to our son, grabbed lunch (still in the restaurant container), put it in a target sack, threw in my belt and my sister’s book she let me borrow and ran out the door.

i get to work – on time…but barely, start to take my lunch out of the target sack and realize everything in there is wet. alfredo everywhere…in the sack, on my belt, and soaking my sister’s book.

the best part…wait for it…the book is titled “mommies who drink.” now that’s poetic…

stacey would be proud

She did it!
Yesterday, Ellie decided she wanted to make cookies after waking up from nap, so i indulged her.

I had a package of those betty crocker add oil, water, and eggs mixes and we made cookies.

It came to the egg part and I asked Ellie if she wanted to learn how to crack an egg today, figuring that if stacey lets casey do it and he’s two weeks younger than Ellie, I should get on it.

I’ll admit, I helped her a bit…but she cracked it and we got it into the bowl.

I think my yelling “no, no, no” when she went to lick her fingers may deter her from ever wanting to do it again…but for this time, we did it!

my new favorite picture

look how absolutely happy they are…

i love the love…i shouldn’t tell you, but i will, that about twenty seconds after this i think they were both crying for some reason…the love only lasts so long. (but at least i can prove its existence!)
